Elanna Conn was born and raised in the small town of North Beach, Maryland. In 2013 she moved to New York City where she attended the New York Film Academy for photography.
Her works present the hazy quality of memory and the power of even the smallest things to hold us deeply. Dream-like images of timelessness wash over the present and into the future, framing interstitial realities between now and memory: the stark loneliness of a single house on an empty road, the graphic tragedy of a flower plucked from its roots.
For Conn, otherwise quotidien details loom large in truth and beauty. Her photos capture the intimacy among those close to the heart, and how relationships of the past, present, and future shape our living experience.
